Valencia, lying at the centre of the east coast of Spain, is a city with its goodly share of cultural and economic prestige - open, cosmopolitan and dynamic - which has managed to maintain a balanced development over the years. Another fascinating infrastructure is The City of Arts and Sciences (Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias), a state - of - the - art scientific, educational, cultural entertainment and tourism complex, with four large areas built on an area of approximately 350.000 hectares.

Fallas - Huge papier-maché effigies of public figures: the most important fire festival in the world.	March

Corpus Cristi - This celebration has been taking place since 1355 in the old part of the city. Gothic floats, known as "roques" solemnly parade through the streets.	June
