Description

Valencia, lying at the centre of the east coast of Spain, is a city with its goodly share of cultural and economic prestige - open, cosmopolitan and dynamic - which has managed to maintain a balanced development over the years. Indeed, its tourist offer combines the splendid historical and monumental heritage in the old part of the city with the human look of new urban developments.

Valencia has important museums such as the Museum of Modern Art (IVAM), The Fine Arts Museum San Pio V, the Centro Cultural de la Beneficencia or the National Museum of Ceramic; but architecture is a living art, and one proof of this is the new Congress Centre that Sir Norman Foster has designed for our city. It is a masterpiece of today for the Valencia of the Third Millennium.
Another fascinating infrastructure is The City of Arts and Sciences (Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias), a state - of - the - art scientific, educational, cultural entertainment and tourism complex, with four large areas built on an area of approximately 350.000 hectares.
Besides, cinema and dance festivals, daring exhibitions or theatrical performances, throughout the year enliven the cultural life of Valencia and the cheerful, lively character of the inhabitants gives the city a unique flavour.Valencia: a city of light and colour, of music and feeling a magic city.
