ECM President’s message
[PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

]During the last 9 days, we have been sadly witnessing a shocking war involving cities and countries who we have been working with for years allowing excellent exchange of knowledge and collaboration.
As a direct result of the current situation, we call on Russia to stop the violence and come up with a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
We deeply regret the outburst of the war that has resulted in many casualties and refugees, leading to endangering European stability.
Consequently, the ECM Board has decided to suspend membership from Russian cities to ECM until further notice.
We express solidarity to Ukraine, our Ukrainian members cities and their neighbouring countries helping the flows of refugees, and we send our appreciation to Russians supporting peace in these dark times.
May this war end immediately sparing further unnecessary bloodshed.
