The Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau (ICVB), which has been promoting Istanbul as a host city for conferences since 1997, will now be introducing the city’s touristic and cultural riches to the world via www.howtoistanbul.com. First launched in November 2013, the website will benefit from ICVB’s knowledge and expertise of Istanbul to provide up-to-date information on the city online.
The website, which has had more 1 million visitors to date, will be available in German, Russian and Arabic (as well as the current English and Turkish), and as a mobile application and will also include downloadable maps and more. Extensive social media campaigns around the world is planned to introduce this brilliant new resource on Istanbul.
The website’s homepage shows an interactive panoramic view of Istanbul around the Golden Horn as a visual introduction to the city. The sections that can be browsed include Istanbul Guide, Things To Do, Istanbul Essentials, Book Istanbul, Social Istanbul and Taste Istanbul with up-to-date information on forthcoming events as well as flights. Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau was founded in 1997 as Turkey’s first destination marketing bureau. It is a non-profit organisation that offers a wide range of services designed to to represent Istanbul around the world and to seek international associations and corporations planning high-profile international congresses and events.
