A brand new Istanbul focussed Instagram competition #oneistanbul has just been launched to further raise Istanbul’s profile on the global state and showcase its historical, cultural, natural charms much loved and favoured by visitors from around the world. The competition has been launched jointly by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), and the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB).
Instagram users will be able share their photography of Istanbul to demonstrate their love of the city using #oneistanbul and #istanbul hashtags on Instagram within the caption of their Istanbul photos. Winners of the competition can look forward to special prizes.
The competition will run for one year, allowing Instagram users to share their Istanbul photography with the hashtags #oneistanbul and #istanbul. At the end of the competition, the winning entries of the top three winning photographs will be awarded prizes of a notebook, tablet computer and a mobile phone. The competition will run across four periods each of three months, with each period featuring a different Istanbul theme. During the end of each period the judges will gather to assess and select the winners. The instagram users’ posted photography will also be shared on the official websites www.howtoistanbul.com and www.istanbuluseyret.com.
Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau was founded in 1997 as Turkey’s first destination marketing bureau. It is a non-profit organisation that offers a wide range of services designed to to represent Istanbul around the world and to seek international associations and corporations planning high-profile international congresses and events.
ICVB works in close collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of Culture & Tourism, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Turkish Airlines. ICVB has members which cover the full spectrum of the meeting & tourism industry.
