European Cities Marketing to announce new Vice-President dedicated to the Meetings Industry

During ECM last Board meeting on October 13, 2017 in Graz, Pier Paolo Mariotti (Bolzano) was elected as the Association’s new Vice President for the Meetings Industry, taking over from Bettina Bunge, former Managing director Dresden Marketing GmbH, now freshly appointed CEO of Tourismus-Agentur Schleswig-Holstein GmbH.

About his election, Pier Paolo Mariotti said: “I am thrilled to be ECM new Vice-President for the Meeting Industry, this role is a great honour and a privilege. The industry is going through deep changes, and as the new Vice-President I will seek to keep our members abreast of latest market intelligence and on leading-edge developments and marketing best practice. My focus will be on knowledge economy and latest trends in the meetings industry, always with an eye on benefits for our members. To me, European Cities Marketing is like a family where members from different backgrounds meet and share about their successes and failures, the best improving elements. Sharing is what makes the ECM family grow.”

European Cities Marketing President Dieter Hardt-Stremayr continued: “I am delighted to work with Pier Paolo Mariotti to strengthen knowledge and serve the interests of European Convention Bureaux (benchmarking, business opportunities, education, networking…), as well as keeping our global outlook and partnering with other associations to keep strengthening the importance of city tourism in Europe.
